North Carolina 9/11 Truth
Platform for a Return to the Rule of Law

In 1787 the States, still smarting from the wrongs they had suffered under King George III, convened to incorporate into a mega-state to provide for common defense and standardization, by writing a framework of law called the U S Constitution.

Over time, in concert with large private constructs, this centralized public entity accumulated power and property far beyond what the wisdom of the Founding Fathers dictated. The ills we see here and abroad derive from a corruption of that plan.

... it would not have fallen in less than 7 seconds.

Lost in the hoopla about Gay Marriage, the Global War on Terra and unplugging Terri Schiavo, vast swaths of state policy have gone untended as centralized interests plundered the U S Treasury and the constitutional rights of the people. Democrats, you now have the political capital that Dubya squandered. Only time will tell if you you have what it takes to return the United States to the rule of law.

The Global War on Terror is a Global Farce. To the Center for Disease Control, International Terrorism is such a low threat that they don't even break it out as a separate item on their Mortality Table (it is lumped in with 'homicide', somewhere below nephritis). You need to govern with the realization that loss due to blowback is already 'built in' to the cost/benefit balance sheet of the multi-national system that transposes wealth from the 'developing' world to the developed. More pressing risks to U S citizens are:
  • leaders with combative rather than cooperative attitudes toward the world community
  • leaders playing to our basest emotions (hate, fear) rather than our noblest ones
  • special interest infestation of US government and the news and entertainment media
  • militarization that diverts funds needed for a social safety net
  • inflation combined with institutional and personal debt
  • infestation of US government by foreign interests
  • dependence on foreign energy
  • decline of our educational system
  • inflated medical costs and other hospitalization hazards
  • loss of civil liberties under the U S PATRIOT act and the Military Commissions Act (MCA)
  • population pressures & lack of support for family planning
  • pollution & natural resource depletion
  • climate change
  • city planning failures resulting in a dependence on motor vehicles
  • a more hostile natural environment due to profligate use of pesticides and antibiotics

ARTICLE 1, SECTION 3:

    The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, [chosen by the legislature thereof,] for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.

    This segment was overturned in 1917 by the enactment of Amendment 17, which states:

      "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote."

    Altho the difference is subtle, we need to understand why there was a perceived need for such an amendment, and what the consequences were. Arguments for its repeal involve a restoration of the power lost by the States to the Fed.

    The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present. ...

ARTICLE 1, SECTION 8: The Congress shall have Power

    To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures. (No State shall ... make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; SECTION 10)

    To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

    To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

ARTICLE 1, SECTION 9: ... no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

AMENDMENT I

    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

AMENDMENT II

    A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

AMENDMENT IV

    The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated; and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

AMENDMENT X

    The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited to it by the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
