Sagging Cars


    Others have treated the 1400 or so burned cars found at up to seven blocks away from Ground Zero at length, but here is a quick intro into this strangest aspect of the terrorist Attack on America:

    The photo below shows two shots facing roughtly north on West Broadway, in the block just north of Barclay St, after both Twin Towers collapsed, but before the collapse of WTC 7. Strangely, the cars were incinerated but the nearby buildings, even closer to Ground Zero, seem to be unaffected, as is the office paper that floated down to street level after the impacts. We have seen no reports of the fuel tanks exploding.

    Note the following in the composite photo below:

    1. Windows blown out
    2. All flammable components completely gone, including whole tires and steering wheels vaporized down to the steel reinforcing cores
    3. Door handles, whether of cast potmetal or plastic, completely gone
    4. The bumper of the police car was subject to such extreme heat that the attaching hardware gave way, yet the front of the car, on the periphery of the energy field, relatively undamaged.
    5. Metal frame components subjected to such extreme heat that they deformed.


    Another commonality, not shown here, is missing engines! Whatever caused these burns was of very intense and of short duration. The damage appears more to be from a Hiroshima-style directed wave of energy, as seen on the police car with the intact front end, than from a ordinary vehicular fire. It appears that the flammables within the vehicles vaporized so quickly that the resultant pressure wave blew out the windows. This corelates with accounts of cars exploding in the streets near Ground Zero by a survivor who, however, reported no unusually high levels of heat. Whatever you attribute this to, WE don't think it was jet fuel. Some smoking plane parts reached the streets far below the impacts, but the fireballs of jet fuel headed skyward.

    The various types of insult to these cars may indicate a plurality of damage modes, and suggested options range from novel star wars beam weapons proposed by Judy Wood and Morgan Reynolds to a wave of EMP that instantaneously heated the cars' metal to red hot with induced electrical currents. Dr. Stephen E. Jones explanation seems to fit many of them, however: that the excess oxidative capacity of hot thermate cutter-charge material raining down from the collapses, hidden by the pyroclastic dust clouds, fell on the cars and oxidized them (page 75).

Since no official investigation questioned why these cars burned, its determination remains an action item for independent efforts.
